We are now just over a month from this historic event and whilst many of you have already placed your entries it is now time for those that have not to get your entries in!

The Club have kindly agreed to underwrite the cost of the race which has enabled us to drop the entry fee to £200. Those of you who have already paid me will be reimbursed the difference.

PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL ENTRIES MUST BE SENT TO ME AT 1 MAIN ST ASHLEY LEICESTERSHIRE LE16 8HF AND NOT TO BDC WITH CHEQUE MADE OUT TO M A MORGAN FOR £200. (I can provide bank transfer details if more convenient).

Any questions at all please email me at Mark at avernishproperty dot co dot uk.

New interesting experience, letting another club member race my Ace Bristol......
On speaking to Mark Morgan I believe we have a definite grid of 18 AC Ace,  not 25 as per 50th Ace Anniversary race at Donington, but still a BLOODY GOOD TURNOUT..[^]

Hopefully some club members can pull together some footage and compile a video of the race.......  [?]..[?]..PLease..[;)]

   JOHN.

For the past 12 years, The Bentley Drivers meeting has always been held on the club circuit and the old pits has been used, not aware of any change.

Regards ACs on parade laps,  I was led to believe it was  for ACs, Aces/Acecas/Greyhounds/Cobras/ PVTs and maybe the ODD AC ME3000, seriously ME3000s as well,  I can't see it making any difference wether we have 20 or 36 ACs on Parade Laps.......Just come along your more than welcome,  one clause John, Julie said you have to bring Sue.[;)]..[:)]

   Keith[/b].. [:)]

We will have a meeting place with an awning near the Scrutineering Bay at the end of the pits. Look out for our ACOC Flags which will mark our pitch, and Racing Aces will be in the closest garages. Hope to see you there, Andy

Mark Morgan.

Thank you for organising the AC Ace/Aceca 60th Anniversary Race at BDC Silverstone meeting.

Great Racing in monsoon conditions, 18 Starters and 16 Finishing, plenty of tail wagging, a fair few excursions and no damage...[:)] only one Ace performed a true 360...[;)]

Didn't count the number of AC's present or the number of AC members, but the Hospitality suite was overflowing even before the Thunder and Lightning.....  Mark, I know we had Robin Cove and her Family over from LA, (USA). But you did go OT with with English Weather.

Well done to all the pilots who raced...[;)]

   Winner........No  21...  Paul Conway.
   2nd...........No  11...  Robin Pearce.
   3rd...........No   9...  Andy Shepherd
   4th...........No   4...  Murry Shepherd ( his 1st Race)
   5th...........No   2...  Nigel Winchester.
   6th...........No   7...  Ted Shepherd.
   7th...........No  19...  Alastair Caldwell.
   8th...........No   5...  Robert Hescroff.
   9th...........No   8...  Peter Lanfranchi.

Last but not least.  Thank you Bill for Driving BEX333 and bring her back in 11th place from 12th on the grid,  Sorry the Road tyres were so worn, infact more like slicks, which definitely put at least 4 or 5 seconds on your lap time ......

Hopefully Linzi Smart, Peter de Roussett-Hall and others can post a few ACtion shots and a few photos of the complete grid..[:p]..

In the absence of a rush of quality photos from Saturday's event, you can have a bunch of my amateur snaps.

Hi Jon,

A great selection of pictures giving a perfect overview of a marvelous day, many thanks for sharing.

A belated thank you also to family Morgan and the intrepid Ace drivers for making the day possible.

Agreed, a fantastic set of photos, but still not quite as good as being there...Dammit!

Here are some photos taken by Peter deRousset-Hall, firstly of Bill Bridges during qualifying in BEX333:

Keith knows how to show a young lady a good time, as the ACOC take to the track for some parade laps:

...And finally, Bill Bridges bravely battled BEX through the downpour, and eventually the track began to dry:

Wasn't it brilliant to see so many younger ACOC members out there racing! The Bentley Boys have been doing it for years, and perhaps this event will open the idea to more parents with their AC cars. The standard of driving was excellent, and I don't believe there were any serious near misses. Well done every one, and what about the Castle Combe Autumn Classic on Sunday 5th October, and of course our own ACOC Goodwood Sprint on Saturday 1st October 2014.
