Thanks for your reply. I friend has managed to machine up an new push fit insert for the actuation arm and matching cylinder rod end fitting so all sorted now and car back on the road.

The clutch lever attachment is such that it could only be fitted in the current position or rotated 180 degrees. So unfortunately don't think it can be that, but thanks anyway.

   Yes have tried both Dave and Nigel without luck.
   
   I have the foundations attached to the chassis tubes. The cotton reel flexible mounts attach to these and the bracket that I am referencing is bolted to these two flexible mounts, with the upperside of the bracket bolted in three places to the bellhousing (two bolts to the underside and a further single bolt each side). Once again many thnaks for your help.

Could anyone recommend the best possible antifreeze for use with the Weller engine. Have been looking at 4 Life antifreeze which is used without water in the system, but have heard that this can potentially cause problems on older rads as it can attack solder joints / repairs and can also possibly cause issues with some hose types.

Hi - I have a 1960 AC Ace with the Weller engine and have some badly worn parts on the clutch actuation that has led to the push rod that fits into the clutch cylinder shearing and hence car unfortunately off the road at present.  The parts that I need to replace are the clutch actuation lever that is mounted on the side of the bell housing together with the ball type cylinder push rod end fitting that fits into this lever. Can anyone advise where I can get these parts ?

Does anyone have a power and or torque curve for a AC CLBN engine. If this is not available this data for any version of the AC engine would be appreciated.

   1. Could anyone please advise on the best make of antifreeze / inhibitor to use to avoid any corrosion issues in an AC engined Ace? Also what concentration of antifreeze is best.
   
   Also is it best to leave this in over winter layup or drain it down ?
   
   2. Recommended make of engine oil ?

Following a complete overhaul, the AC engine and gearbox are now back in my Ace. On reinstalling the clutch, I found that I had to use most of the extension on the threaded end fitting of the slave cylinder rod to achieve the maximum recommended free play (3/8")when the slave cylinder is fully compressed (this seemed odd given that it is a new cluch and thrust bearing and presumably should only need to be using max adjusted length with a worn clutch assembly?). When the clutch is actuated there is only approximately 1/2" of travel on the end of the clutch actuation lever before it comes into contact with the bell housing and the clutch pedal is not fully depressed. This does not seem right at all and I am concerned that I may  have incorrectly reassembled the cluch acuating assembly although looking through the access/vent aperature on the top of the bellhousing it all seems to be sitting right. Interesting, the bell housing shoews signs of wear as if the end of clutch actuating cylinder had always rubbed against the casting on full extension
   
   I can't test the clutch as none of the ancilliaries are yet fitted and don't want to put all of these back on if I the engine has to be removed. Before I go through the trauma of taking the engine back out of the car, could anyone through any light on this ?

During restoration of my car, the mounting bracket that sits across the underside of the bell housing on a 1960 AC engined Ace has been mislaid. Can I purchase one of these from anyone or does anyone have photos or dimensional information for this part to assist in getting a replacement made ?
