Hi as we have loads time at mo, what are you doing down the garage. Does not have to be directly related to your AC as many have other vehicles/toys.

Me I'm going over my recently purchased Chevy Astro passenger van, doing a couple of up grades ie EGR blanking, throttle body spacer, Mass airflow mods and a cold air feed to K&N, transmission oil change and new filter.

As for the Ol' Girl she is getting greased, oil  and filter change, planning the install of brake servo.

Fiddling with my Pashley loadstar tricycle, new tyres, polishing rims, adjusting brakes etc.

Oh and considering rebuilding a vintage ladies cycle.

Come guys you must be upto something.

Cheers  G

Luckily the 16/66 came back from the trimmer before lockdown. I had a date at the end of may to build up the car but that is now cancelled. I can now just enjoy assembly at my leisure as the fancy takes me.
I find myself doing something and then changing my mind or doing something wrong and doing it again the day after.

I might be rough but I'm slow as well.

Hi Col

Yep, been there done that, do something then, whilst contemplating ones navel an idea suddenly pops into your mind and back you go and redo your previous attempt.

Glad to hear your car is coming along.

It all seems a little quiet out there on the forum.

Take care stay safe.

It does seem a little strange that the forum is not busy in these odd times.
It is the same on the Daimler site as well. I hope it's because people are keeping occupied rather than it being a dislike to me personally.

Keep happy but keep safe.

Hi Colin.

I am sure it not you.

This Forum is never the liveliest but yes does seem particularly dull at present.

I am sure there are some members out playing in the garage.

Beside working on my Aceca my little daughter said that after some handicrafts with my wife it's time for something bigger and more complex project. First my wife and daughter build two candy dispenser:

Then my daughter wanted a horse stable. All the versions she built out of paperboard hadn't the right stability. So, she made some plans and drawings and asked daddy to do it in aluminium. She puts the parts together with the cleco pins.

But a horse stable is useless without a blacksmith  :o

Now that is a clever daughter and obviously daddy.

Ah Colin, wiring is a headache I made my own loom, it is worth it in the end.

AC Ventura, there is nothing like the sound of a nice big V8 burbling through a straight through system. Maybe when its done you could upload an audio clip ;D

I've not been down garage for last few days as been painting the hall and landing, all done now. However wife's 2 new trees have arrived I am off to plant out.

Back down garage next week.

Here is the link with the earlier system. Sound is the same, now but much less restrictive.

Tip: Video is only idle, but sounds best with headphones at max volume

I'm finally cracking on with the bodywork on my XK140 DHC.  I stripped it last year, cut it in half and sent it off to be blasted in instalments.  The chassis is fine but otherwise it's new sills, floorpans, lower half of bulkhead, boot floor panels and doorskins.  I also had to make new wooden door frames out of Utile.  Then there are over 20 pieces of walnut veneered trim to sort, not to mention the mechanicals...

This is where we are now, with front half back on the frame, door hinges rebuilt and doors mounted and gapped.  The rear body is back on, and this is preliminary alignment before all the tack welds are converted into seams.  Mostly MIG with a bit of TIG - and I remembered to get fresh gas bottles the day before lockdown!
