Dear All,

I need to change the brake pads of my rear brakes on my AC Autokraft MKIV 1989. I have no idea what brand they are nor where to buy them from.
could anyone advise me on "what" and "where" to get them from.
In addition looking at my two rear brake systems I realised that actually there is a small part missing on one of them. It is the upper metal plate that seems actually to "seems" to keep the pads away from each other OR possibly avoid some vibration of the pads ? (see picture attached).

Again if anyone could tell me what this metal piece is for and advice where to get and buy it, I would very much appreciate.

Many thanks in advance for your help

I have AK 1500 1993. Front pads I have here are PAGID (Germany) T0494. I bought them in the UK from Euro Car Parts. I'm sure I have the rear number somewhere.

Hi Laurent,
It's difficult to make out from the picture but I guess these are the Peugeot 504 calipers.

Not sure if the part no's are current but pads were listed variously as Ferodo FG258, FG463, FDB71 and Mintex MGB560.  Ferodo also suplied Fitting Kits (which included you missing spring-plate plus pins) as FBA408.

Hope this helps.

John.

Hello Laurant,

the metal spring plate will avoid vibrations and the typical sqeek we hear sometimes with other cars if the brakes are just slightly activated.
Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler!

Anyone have thoughts on this caliper?  Appears different than the ones described...

I would un bolt it and check for clues. The picture at the beginning of the thread is hard to see to compare.
