I own AC Aceca AEX 525 (your chassis no. is AEX 523?) Five cars in total went to Portugal, all in 1955.
I have a lot of history for the car when it went to the USA in the mid 1970s where it competed on the American Historic racing circuit but its life in Portugal I do not have much information on. Can you help please?
In 1963 it was fitted with the Ford 2.6 engine, Raymond Mays head, triple Webers, Moss gearbox, Borrani wheels and much else. All these items came from a 1962 Ace that burnt out on a dockside fire that was owned by Francisco Jose Gentil Heredia. He raced the Ace in Portugal and other European Countries I believe.  I had an address as Apartado 173; 2710 – Sintra: Portugal but it was returned as 'devolvido ao remetente'. Can you help me trace F. Heredia or put me in contact with anyone who may know AC cars is Portugal.
After the transplant from the Ace I am interested to know if the Aceca was raced and if so by whom.

   Many thanks

Ps.   If I knew how to do it I would attach an image of my car but technology has beaten me

Antonio; It was good to talk with you but I was sorry to hear the news that Count Heredia had recently died. If however, as you suggested,  you can contact his Family when you have time to help me put together the history of BG-22-87 (chassis AEX 525) I would be very grateful.
   Enjoy your holiday

   Regards

Thanks for your help. I am experimenting with 'attachments' and even though the computer is smoking it has not blown up yet so I must be on the right track. When I have succeeded I will post an image of the Aceca amd go and have a large drink in celebration of one over technology. Watch this space!!

   Regards

Here goes. Not sure what will happen! But if it works this is AEX 525 fitted with the race engine, triple Webers, Raymond Mays head, gearbox, Borrani's etc from RSX 5009. Note the Ace/Cobra styled nose.

Well done, that man!
Could one call AEX525 the spiritual inspiration for the Mamba? I rather like it.

   My pleasure[:D]

I see the auction ended with no bidders, I hope that something positive will happen to this car, whether it be restoration or, at worst, parts donor.
