what size Avons

Can you please help what size front and rear Avons should I put on my 15" wheels the man at Avon says 245 front and 275 rear, not sure!

I have 275 rear and 225 front for what its worth.

The 245s tend to rub against the inner wheel arch mouldings.  225 seem to be the best fit for front and 275 for rears.

I fitted 245s to the front and had to change them in the end as they rubbed a hole in the inner panels so changed to the slimmer ones.

I have a aluminium. MK IV 1993. I researched this extensively before ordering from Avon as I didn't want he car looking undertyred. I went to the trouble of making precise hardboard templates and attached them to my 15" wheels and checked the rolling clearance empirically in all steering positions.
   
   I concluded and fitted with no problems.
   
   Front Avon ZZ 225/65/R15
   Rear Avon ZX 275/55/R15
   
   There are great benefits to this combination, in as much as both front and rear are the same diameters and look great. The front 65 profile as opposed to the commonly fitted 60 is a full inch bigger in diameter, which will give you more ground clearance and as well as a more period high profile look.
   
   There are no wheel arch rubbing issues whatsoever and my car being late model, did not require bending the steering arms. I do more mileage than most on my MK IV, covering 6000 miles last year all over Europe.
   
   I can only speak for my car. Don't be tempted to fit 295 on the back, they will be too tight.
   
   Order direct from Avon and ask for competition discount.

Any tips on where one can obtain 15" wheels for front and rear?  I believe there were posts before on the topic but the 15" wheels were no longer available. Is that the case or is someone now making 15" wheels that fit appropriately for the Mk. IV cars?  I believe that Hawk Cars used to have 15" wheels. There are Trigo 15" wheels here in the U.S. and I had them test fitted to my car but there were fitment issues.

Redline Engineering here in the UK have recently started to produce 15 inch wheels. I enquired yesterday and they told me they are produced in the UK and primarily designed to fit the Autokraft cars, as are their stainless steel spinners. They didn't have any in stock but expect their next batch within the next two weeks.
   
   Has anybody bought a set of the Redline wheels and if so what do they think of them?

Vintage Wheels USA will make you a fantastic set of correct 15" wheels speak to Bob Lacey he knows the Autocraft MK 1V and offset required and is very helpful, cost is about £1,800.00 plus shipping and VAT they will finnish them any way you want coloured  centers, polished or mat rims,mine fit perfectly .

I don't know about the Vintage wheel product, but Trigo's are not the same. My car above has one of the last  sets of Hawk's 15" units. Had anybody checked with Gerry at Hawk, that he's not commissioning  production off them, once more?
