I requested to increase the value of my 1998 AC MIV on a classic auto policy and they are asking me for this ... where would i get this info ?

â€¢Please provide documentation (not an appraisal) that supports the requested value of $90,000 for the 1988 AC MK IV Cobra.

   Thanks

I had the same problem when trying to increase the insured value of my MK IV. I sent several auction sales results and reported private sale results to my insurance company, American Collectors, and asked for an agreed value of $90K.  They refused to increase the value to that amount and agreed "as a courtesy" to increase the value to $75K. The premium did not increase significantly when the value was changed from $60K to $75K.

Do you have "stated value" insurance or "Agreed value" insurance? There is a BIG difference.

302 efi ... perfect thanks

Linklaw ... i'm thinking auctions and ebay sales ...

MarkIV ... I'm not sure if its stated or agreed ... but obviously we dont agree ... LOL

AC Ventura ... actually that is my exact car BRG / Saddle interior.

I have 2 Boss 302s and a Pantera ... those come up on American Collectors website ... but not the MKIV

Thanks Men ... I'm going to give them Hell tomorrow.

Ok so American Collector came back and told me ... I live in a Wildfire and Tornado area ... Ive been here for 49 years and never once had a wild fire or tornado ... how do these insurance co's get away with this BS.

So off i go to another co.

I had very good experiences with the major specialty car insurers on three occassions.

If you dont mind telling me ... Who were they?  They are all great but make one claim ... then the next year they are not so good.

Will research AK file and get back, but I recall hag arty and two others...as to changing yearly ..that's why the Internet exists and the telephone

I've used both Grundy, my current insurance company, and J. C. Taylor as well for my Mk. IV.  Both had competitive rates and have been around for a while.  Both were significantly less expensive than Hagerty and American Collector when I got quotes from them for my Cobra.

Grundy and Taylor were the other two I used. As well. Again..shopping is a way of life today.
