Greetings, I was wondering if the sway bars ( Anti-Roll Bars ) on the suspension of a MKIV ( 1987 example in our shop ) were an option, when the car was produced.

--I see the holes in the front lower A-Arms to mount the sway bar end-link end bushings but no installed brackets to hold the core of the bar on the chassis...unless I am missing a visual queue.

Thoughts / Ideas / Chants welcome

My car 1234 doesnt have any sway bars ... my understanding was they were not a dealer option and they are aftermarket.

   Ron,

Don't your main chassis rails have the small extensions with threaded holes to take up the main location blocks; my chassis features these front and rear and you can also see them on the first pic of Flyinghorse's answer of 13 July 2013 :  11:10:08  that you find here

The presence of these extensions indicates to me that ARBs were a factory option.
