Hexagon Classics have this 1993 AC Cobra MkIV Lightweight - Chassis No. AKL 1408 - Low mileage - LHD 'Lightweight' being 1 of only 12 - Price £199,995. This makes the MkIV 427 RHD that Graeme Hunt has for sale quite reasonable at a price of £157,500. Here are the links for both of these cars:[:)]

So 'A1 COB' (AKL 1370) for rather less than either of the above should be something of a 'bargain'!

ahahah ... Hello and welcome,  Mr Leach! can we say "opportunism" in English [;)] ? beautiful car, but RHD ... one of my (french) friend is still in love with a car you sold quite a long time ago (but not to him, unfortunately) :

do you know where it is ?

Flyinghorse

The Graeme Hunt car was on show at the NEC and had a lot of interest from what I saw. I imagine a period correct 427 side oiler engine would not be cheap to source & build.

Those prices make this one on eBay in the U.S look like a steal at sub-£80k, even when you factor in import duty & shipping costs, you`re still way ahead of the curve!

Haha!! I`ve found out why this MkIV is SOOO cheap... it has a serious fault!!!

From the vendor`s Q & A section: "...It fires right up and drives straight. No rattles or squeaks. It stops great and goes thru the gears like it should. The only issue I found is there appears to be a cassette stuck in the stereo."

   Stereo... [:o)]

REV

Both the Hexagon Classics car and the Graeme Hunt car used to belong to me!

Bizarre that they're both for sale at the same time.

Well Fook off if the stereo has a tape jammed in it! It will cost umpteen thousand pounds (or twelve dollars, about the same) to rectify.

I am not paying the sod a pence over the price for a defective AC!!!!

TLegate

Both cars from the Rev Stable - what are the chances? And "1 of 12" indeed!! Who knew? Having seen the car being restored, I would say it was more like 1 of 1

Well, if they`re not good enough for Mr Revill, they`re not good enough for ME...so I shall not be making an offer on either! [:p]

French Frie,

The Mk4 lightweight which you have posted an image of in this thread on 19/Nov/13 belongs to a friend of mine. He bought it off Rod Leach. He lives in Cheshire, England. It is a beautiful car! I understand it is one of the initial 26? lightweights. My friend has a passion for motorcycle touring in Europe and as such hasn't used the car much at all since he's had it. I was chatting to him today and he may contemplate selling it. Let me know if you (or your friend) want his contact details.

   Regards

French Frie

Hello Gary,

Unfortunately, I'm not wealthy enough to think about owning this car [B)], apart from the fact that it has the steering wheel on the wrong side [:o)] ... But I'll let my friend know !

how far is your own building process ? it should start to be at its end [8D] !

HAPPY NEW YEAR'S EVE TO ALL !

Superarnie Mk2

Hi French Frie - happy New Year to you and all ACOC forum members.

My car is coming along nicely thankyou. May well be finished this year, but don't hold your breath!!

Father Christmas brought me a windscreen, so I have been busy fitting it! The car is almost complete apart from sorting out the engine/gearbox and exhausts. They may be sorted out soon and I may get it on the road in time for the summer, fingers crossed!

   Kind regards
