Hi all , can anyone tell me were the engine number is on the block ? Mine is a AK1040 MK 4 1984
It is a SVO  factory lightweight stage 3 , changed in 1989 by the factory , I am wanting to check the number against the chassis plate , will it have changed the capacity of the engine ?thank you neil.

jbottini

AK1040, a 302 SVO is same cubic inch capacity as the standard 302, if you mean whether or not it is an AKL, , if built as a standard AK, the modification will not be on the plate

Yup, that is what I found out last month on our excursion there. I gave up correcting Karen when she saw "10 Euro" and said "Look, it's only ten dollars"

I don't understand how any people in Europe can afford to live! Well at least you and I did our part to redistribute wealth to the populace of Italy.

I was in a bar the other night and saw two rather large girls drinking. When I heard their accents, I went over and asked them "Are you ladies from Scotland?" to which they replied "It's WALES you fookin' moron!" So I asked "Are you whales from Scotland?"

LOL. As soon as I read the word "Wales" in the earlier post, I thought of this joke. Then I read further and there it was. There must be a lot of similar minded people here.

Hi Jim the car is a standard MK4 it was up graded to LW spec in 89 at a cost of £20,000 plus, then by the first owner of the AK1040, which is why I thought the number may be different to the original one .PS have a good time in Italy .Neil

Enjoying the hell out of it...but I may be churched out!

Jim - a bit of free advice: you don't have to visit all the churches! Unless you're after salvation of course....

jbottini

Trevor, Wife suggests I need to visit all I can...even going to a vatican mass...watch for the lightening!!! Jim .  going to best church today ,Museo Ferrai in Maranello!

Mark IV

Ah, yes...Italy and churches! You would think it was the headquarters or something!

We did see Papa Francesco up close and personal when we visited in September. The Museso Ferrari was fun but a bit of a disappointment as they were doing a remodel on the ground floor. We are still talking about a return trip to catch all we missed.
