Yeah, funny, the link is dead, but search AC category and select "1966 AC All Aluminium" and the URL is correct! I've linked to the printable view below.

Anywhichway, the ad is for a Cobra described as
CSX30601 which had it's chassis plate removed and another CSX3060 exists....
We discussed this car HERE in 2008.

Hmmm, interesting.  The dealer (Hillbank USA aka Superformance USA aka Shelby Distribution USA) is a reputable seller.  The car looks like it might be one of the so-called "completion Cobras" that Shelby had McClusky build for him; I'll have to check my registry tonight to see if it has any details.

This car also looks like Lot 811 from Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas 2008: http://www.barrett-jackson.com/application/onlinesubmission/lotdetails.aspx?ln=811&aid=263

I think there`s a VERY good reason for that!

According to the Shelby registry, this car is NOT one of the McClusky completion Cobras nor is it one of the Angliss continuation Cobras.  However, the body and chassis were originally produced by Angliss some time in the early 1980s.

Not sure what exactly this makes it...

I think that shows very clearly what this is, a very nice replica. [:p]

SB7019

Nice car but some of the shaping of the front and rear wheel arches is a bit "off".  Price looks somewhat ambitious bearing in mind what a Kirkham can be bought or built for.

SJ351

So we have an Angliss body-chassis unit on this car (a relica) and the same on a red 427 that is an 'original' while its original AC Thames-Ditton built body chassis unit is the backbone of another 'replica' elsewhere (and this os not the only example of such). Legal title may be a factor in the eyes of the law but we all know what some of the cars in out midst really are, or at least can find a man who does. I do pity anyone trying to purchase a Cobra without the inside track

Nail hit cleanly on the head there, Stephen.

All Cobras are real - some are more realer than others (hmmm, there's a title for a book there....)

   Really?

Not saying the book would sell....

It would keep the lawyers busy though!
