Downton Abbey (Channel ITV1), Series 3 Episode 2 of the award-winning period drama, shown tonight, has an AC-6 in the opening sequence taking the driveway to the house, (viewed from inside the car and with excellent footage of it being driven to the main entrance of the house).

   Script:

   (in the car)
   - Who will groan first when they see it, Granny or Papa?
   - (laugh) I should think they'll howl at the moon in unison

(on arrival at the entrance to Downton Abbey)
   - What in God's name is this?
   - Well, I never!
   - Where did this come from?
   - I ordered it on the way through in London and picked it up on the way back. It's an AC.
   - Well, at least, it's English....

Thanks for bringing that to our attention.  Didn't the car look nice.  Shame they left the suction cup type rear view mirror in place!  It looked a bit odd to my eyes.

Question is - does this car belong to an ACOC member? and if so, is there the opportunity to write a feature for "ACtion" on this car?

The running of the car didn't go to plan - not sure if it was the actor's finger trouble, or the AC that was refusing to co-operate. A link to how the press reported the issue:

It doesn't have a suction mirror. The interior mirror is fitted to the upper frame at the position of the large central wingnut that opens the two-pane screen.

I know this car and its owner very well. The car did not break down! It didn't have any problems at all. The press have made a story up, from a photo taken before filming, which simply shows the car turning around....and there happens to be one of the security people walking towards it.

My apologies to the owner, comes from viewing the clip on a small screen!
