you can have the best of both worlds (cold beer with flavor) when we meet up all together in germany :-) but unfortunately we have no Goodwood Revival

Gus Meyjes

I think I'll stick with flavourful cold German beer... Anyone who names his beer the Bishop's finger cannot be trusted...

Jonathan,

Your enthusiasm has been infectious! I'm convinced one of these years we'll get the whole thing going. What do you think about us going east and drive our cars in their birth country and have a few lukewarm beers to go with that?

Hey Gus.  Interesting that you mention going the other way around.  I am currently looking into the feasibility of shipping my Mk IV over to England for the 2013 Pyrenees tour that takes place in late May that is being hosted by John Norris (Cobham Cobra).  Though, Goodwood sounds like a lot of fun too.  Perhaps we can get a U.S. contingent to tour the Pyrenees with our Club friends over in Europe?  Now, that would be a blast!  [:D]

Gus Meyjes

I would love to drive around Europe and go to Goodwood one day!

One day ain`t enough. In fact the 3 days ain`t enough to do half of what his Marchness has to offer! [:D][8D]

Bring your walking boots.....and much money

Gus Meyjes

Trevor, such hospitality...

Hi Gus,
I have exchanged a few emails with BBK (Rob) and will soon be able to provide options and indicative costs for shipping to Europe for a short-term / temporary import of his Cobra.  I think the trip to the Pyrenees now has 12 cars signed up. We originally had 21 spaces on the trip (limited by the number of hotel rooms), but during March we will need to confirm and pay for the rooms and will then let the excess room go.

So if anyone is thinking of coming on the trip – don't leave it too long.

The trip is 29th May – 7th June and I suggested to Rob, that if he does come to Europe it would be worth staying an extra few days to attend the Brooklands Double Twelve on 15th – 16th June

Some members enter the driving tests and concours etc and others display their cars. The club had a display at the event last year and we plan to have a bigger display this year.

We also have cold beer [:)]

Gus Meyjes

I would love to come over and have a cold beer among AC enthusiasts, however that first of June I will hopefully be riding 12+ foot waves on the outer banks of North Carolina in my recently acquired role of professional Kiteboarder... Ok, semi, professional... not quitting my dayjob...

nikbj68

Gus, you call them waves?!
Bring your kite with you....Just down the road from Goodwood is Worthing!!!![:0][8D]

Gus Meyjes

Yeah, that was pretty sick! Lewis and Ruben lenten are the masters of insane! They should both be in the outer banks as well when I'm there!

I have no interest in jumping over the Brighton pier, but I have no problem jumping 40+ feet. [:)]

nikbj68

I have a problem waalking 40 feet!!! You`re a helluva fella! [8D]

Gus Meyjes

In hindsight, maybe the European and UK contingent is relieved they did not ship their priceless cars over to the US for the USA international...

Gus - First of all a belated 'thank you' for all your hard work and time in trying to establish the UK to USA visit. Many of us love motoring USA style, and it remains a great idea which one feels should be doable. Hopefully, one day.......

As for the ship, [:0]'Oh...M.....G....' is the expression which comes to mind!

nikbj68

At least the front half will get there....
