Here's a link to an Aceca featured in a couple of chase scenes out of a 1965 French Movie. Does anyone know anything about this movie or the chassis No. of this car? Better yet, where it now?

I don't know the movie but it is called "Killer Spy" in USA and "Rendezvous der Killer" in Germany.

Then follow all the various links for lots of info, but no chassis number that I can find.

Back then it was the same as a bond film now, smash a nice Aston Martin is fine. I looked at the damage and thought ouch!!!

Aceca289

Yes Ouch, but look closely as it appears the Aceca emerges from the barn unscathed.  It's not until the next scene where they show the damage. And...the other two cars emerge from the barn with no damage before running into the haystack and into the pond. Amazing...simply amazing how that can happen! [:D][:D]

Hello Jim A

Welcome back to the Forum,  Thank you for confirming Chassis number of Aceca as  "BEX653". . [;)]

I can report Aceca is in fine Fettle,  Well was in fine fettle when up for sale at Artcural Auction in June 2008 and still looking prestine  in Paris February 2010.. [:)]

Still yet to master posting pictures..[:(].  Will therefore  email three pictures to John Abel and ask  him (nicely) to do the honours and Post on this thread.

See you and members of AC Club France at "Le Mans Classic" in July.

   Cheers

Hi Keith,
The pics you had to have posted* by Classicus do not show BEX 653 but AEX 779, actually an Aceca with the (Bristol) engine from BEX 653. Don't ask me what happened...
   See you at Le Mans.
*I don't understand either why it is so complicated to post a photo on this forum while it is so easy on others... A pity.

Antoine  & Classicus.

Thank you Paul for posting the three pictures  Aceca
   (BEX653 / AEX779).

Thank you Antoine for additional information.

So I was half right..[;)] .. The engine from BEX653 has found its way into AEX779,   Doesn't bid well for the survival of BEX653 if last record  is 1963, engine transfered to another Aceca  and potential abuse in 1965 in/with the Film industry.[:(]

Let's hope the Body and Chassis have not been scrapped but stored away to materialise some time in the not to distant future as a restoration project.

   Cheers

   Keith..[:)]
