Is somebody looking for a set of 289FIA wheels? I find this ad at the US cobra club forum.

They look very nice with the right sizes.

I don't believe these are pin drives as they are for an ERA replica and the pic's look  as if they are not pin drives

According to the seller explanation, there are 5 pins (not 6 like the original Shelby)

jbottini

five pins as in to fin over some sort of lug nut to fit a standard hub from an american 5 bolt system.

It`s hard to tell from the pics, but there don`t appear to be splines in the centre of the wheel, but it looks like 10 holes in the hub-face, so I`m pretty sure the 5 or 6 issue relates to mounting the 'spinner' hub to a 5 or 6 bolt(lug) car, so not strictly FIA wheels, but FIA 'looking'.[:)]

jbottini

Exactly, the wheels are not designed for AC type cars , but for the Non AC specific manufactered vehicles (politically correct?)

MkIV Lux

guys, just look at the pictures and description carefully, you will see that they are conversions for 5 bolt standard wheels. You can even see the conversion bits under the spinners!

You guys do know that Trigo is selling 6 pin FIA wheels now, don't you?

If you require good quality FIA wheels with Peg Drive an original specification Hawk provide some nice replica versions [http://www.hawkcars.co.uk/parts/index.html]. I have them fitted to my Hawk 289 see photo below :

   I hope it helps

   Thanks

Wheels look great but are MkIII rather than FIA ones.  Hawke do however sell FIA spec wheels.

Gus Meyjes

John, you're building a mighty fine collection there!! Can you fit them all in your drive way?

hawk289

Oops, Yep, should explain hawk do both, I quite like the MkIII wheels. The drive is quite big, the problem is I enjoy the building / restoring and I can not stop. I might have to build a bigger garage!!

Nice wheels, but I don`t like the colour, John![;)]
SVA before paint and miraculous disappearance of the orange zit on the wing?
   [:D]
IM(v)HO, that is the best looking variant on the whole Cobra theme. [8D]

hawk289

Are you know me too well, been through to many SVA's for my liking. This will be my last kit that I build, not sure what I will do with this one. But my family want too much time fixing bikes, etc. for car building.

Anyway, let me finish then post the pictures.
