Last night on television, BBC 2, there was a programme about P G Wodehouse ('Wogan on Wodehouse'). A photo flashed onto the screen, of Wodehouse in a polished aluminium AC, from the early 1920's, looking very much the Bertie Wooster - here's the shot below. The car looks like a 4-cylinder (12/24):
