Hi,

Does anybody know where I can source the individual exhaust manifold gaskets to suit the factory SVO alloy head/carb engine option? There is one gasket for each exhaust port with a diagonal two stud patteren.

Thanks Kevin

Here in the states So Cal Speed Shop seems to have the gaskets (although not individual) available on EBay or you could probably contact them directly. Summit Racing or Jegs should as well but I did not see any listed.

RV Express also shows a similar gasket.

Kevin,
You are right to go for copper exhaust manifold gaskets, since I cut a set for the 260 and 289 small blocks I have had no leaks or needed any replacements.
It is time consuming to cut some blanks and then file them to match the ports, but it is not difficult. I used a jig saw to do the rough shaping.
The material I have used is 12 swg and 14 swg copper sheet. Both worked.

I've noticed a lot of gasket kits are on back order/ special manufacture.

If you don't fancy Barrie's old school method these folk may be worth contacting:

Thank you all for the replies. I was able to order custom made copies of the gaskets much cheaper than importing a set that might not be right.

https://www.ramgaskets.com/ in Cornwall gave a very reasonable quote in a matching material.

Barrie's suggestion of using copper sounded great, it is difficult to remove the header bolts, so lasting solution makes sense. Lacking the skill and patience to cut copper myself I did try Stephens Gaskets who put me on to Dobsons Gaskets in Keighley. They quoted what I considered to be a reasonable price to produce new gaskets in copper, so I ordered them.

Thanks
Kevin
