I have confirmed there are no direct photo hosting facilities on the site.  If you do want to post photos these are the instructions:

"If visitors have an address where the image lives i.e

www.mycarsite.com/car/images/picture.gif - they can on a post use the 4th icon from the right on the "format" line - this inserts tags - in between which they put the address (as above of the image they wish to display)

If they do not have any web space to host the image - they can go to "imageshack" or "photobucket" (key in these at google)
and avail themselves of free image web hosting"

I haven't tried it so if anyone does and has success (or otherwise) please let me know.

OK, Let`s try Imageshack.

Does anyone else see a little red 'x'?
   Photobucket next:

Looks OK to me! Photobucket is handy, as you can resize the pic to suit, this is at 640 x 480, which is ideal for forums etc.

Finally, other host(in this case,a thumbnail from 'ClubCobra').
    Cool.

VG - well done - thanks!

Yes I see your red X, but I think I'm being a little dim. How did you and how do we post photos here ? Am I correct in thinking Photobucket and Imageshack are photo hosting sites external to our website ? It would be great to have a photo section on the site.
   Cheers - John.

The Red 'X' means that Imageshack is a no go.
I guess due to server restrictions on bandwidth we have no gallery facility here?
OK. To put photies in your post that are on your PC: (Helps to have 2 internet explorers open, one with this forum, the other with photobucket etc.)

  • 1. Go to Photobucket or Flickr & register(free & anonymous!).
  • 2.When offered the 'choose an image' box, browse your computer to find the picture you want to share with us, then press 'upload' .
  • 3. If neccesary, resize the picture to 320x240(as the Ace below is)or 640x480(big Cobra above) using the 'edit' & 'resize' features, then copy the 'IMG' stuff in the bottom box, such as: [lMG]http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q113/nikbj68/37dsmall.jpg[/lMG]
  • simply by 'left-clicking' once on it.

  • 4. Come back to this forum, then either start new thread, post reply or reply with quote as  normal, but when you want to insert the picture, paste the copied bit from above like this:
       [lMG]http://www.acownersclub.co.uk/forum/icon_editor_image.gif[/lMG]
  • 5. Hey Presto! picture in post.

If you want to use a picture already on the 'net, simply right click on it, select 'properties', copy the address(URL) 'http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q113/nikbj68/37dsmall.jpg' bit, come back to this forum and press the button, then paste it as above between the [lMG]*[/lMG] codes (or if the button isn`t there, just type [lMG]  [/lMG]either side of the address) .

   Here endeth the lesson!
   Cheers, Nik.

Sorry, couldn't resist trying it. Some guys on a US forum wanted a picture of the Ace and suggested photobucket, but for the life of me couldn't figure out how to use it. God, how computers make you feel inadequate!

   Thanks for the lesson Nik.

Nicely done, Max, glad it helped. Damn, that looks good, even if the steering wheel is on the wrong side!
Good luck with the manual conversion too!

Max Allan

Being a left hooker is not ideal, although something you get used to. However, with so few cars made choosing the spec you want is difficult.

Thanks for your good wishes on the tranny conversion. It was supposed to be this winter's project, but have yet to decide which box. Decisions, decisions.

   Nik,
Thanks for the lesson, I think I've done at last....only took me a few hours[:(]

   That's better!

Looks good Ace4.6. How about a shot under the bonnet of the cammer engine? I'd be interested in seeing it, as I'm sure others would. Has the car cover arrived yet?

I thought I'd put my email address in an earlier thread, in response to your suggestion of a meet, but for some reason it didn't appear. That said if I do ultimately bite the bullet and switch to manual transmission, at the speed I work these days I suspect the car will be out of acting for some while!

What a fantastic angle, Ace 4.6! REALLY menacing front view.
   Stunning.
Well done all on getting the pics on here.
