Brake adjuster spanner and bleeder tools

[AEX 31]

Dear all,

I'm looking for original, rear brake adjuster spanner and bleeder socket tool
for AEX 31 which is an AC engined Ace from 1954.

It doesn't really matter if they are original or reproductions as long as they
look like the original ones.

Any hints or tips gratefuly appreciated. Or if anybody would have any for sale:

If you are possibly  thinking of having a small batch of  accurate copy Bleeder sockets (spanner) made  Please put my name as interested .
With BEX333,  I like many Ace owners have replaced the standard length  rear brake  nipples with longer version, but still not
the easiest job when bleeding the rear brakes,  Regards adjusting the rear brake, I have brazed a small  metal box section to a flat plate and use it on both the  rear nearside  and offside,  However very tight for space due to fuel tank, but it does the job.
Please put me down for a bleeder socket, Should you decide to have a small batch made. ;)

Did Cobras use the same tool?

Cobras came with a bleeder fitting tool. (I have never used the original for CSX2310. I use flare nut spanners.) Finding an original in the USA is near impossible. I did drawings for a friend about twenty years ago and he made a few. I still have one of the ones he made that I have no use for.

If anybody decides to make a batch I have some detailed drawings........come to think of it if anybody is interested let me know and i will get a price per unit.....the more the merrier ( and cheaper ) .

So i am going to get a price for making the brake spanner and bleeding tool. I am going to make to the spec below.
Hands up now for all those interested......I can get a more accurate price if i have numbers.
I assume Aces also required these tools ?

PS ...A quick question for all ....on the brake adjusting spanner does the head have to be round going into square or ( providing the tool works )
would we be happy for it to just be square internally with a rounded edge.......this would be a lot easier to machine.

Keith has kindly drawn this and included a photo for the brake adjuster. I will check as to whether the internal measurement should be 1/2'' or 7/16''. The photo shows a piece of square tube rather than round becoming square. This is far easier to fabricate ..... everybody happy with that ?

Just a quick note, Omitted from my drawing, The total depth of my homemade   Ace Rear Brake adjuster tool is 26mm
inclusive of the 4mm base handle.
The  actual square tube is 20/21mm in length which has been brazed  to the 4mm by 130 mm flat. a tight fit  when working on the brakes  due to close proximity of the  fuel tank. mind you I have a Ali Tank fitted to BEX333 not the old Steel Thames Ditton Unit.

Be interesting to know whether there were two different size  rear Brake adjusters,  I will remeasure mine , but could swear  it
is 7 /16 inch, not 1/2 inch.

As the old saying goes measure twice and cut once.

I would be very happy with square with a rounded edge. Seems much more logical than reshaping a round one.

I have someone on the case and will come back with prices......should be vey reasonable.
Have decided not to go from round to square on the brake adjustment tool as it is only 1" high and it will function perfectly.
The difference in look although not totally original as AC made them is marginal.

After some consideration and calculation we reckon that the brake adjustment and bleeding tools will work out at approximately £30 each. + P and P.
They will come in sand blasted form so will age nicely.......the alternative is to powder coat them black for an extra few pounds.
Thoughts appreciated as all feedback helps the production process.
