Can any one advise make /model/year or pn of MKIV lower front ball joint has?  Urban legend was Saab

1984MkIV

Yes, it is a Saab, Brian started about 1985 to use these parts. It must be a Saab which was build at that time. Contact a Saab dealer and let him search for the parts.

My friend with car no. 1299 has a bad ball joint as well. He purchased the Saab ball joint and it is not correct. The Saab ball joints for all 900 series cars, which would have been the model that was new in the 1980s, are all the same, regardless of the year. The holes where the ball joint bolts to the a arms do not line up with the Saab part. There is also no part number or manufacturer's name on the AC ball joint. Hopefully we can identify the part so as to avoid having to change the a arms to fix a bad ball joint.

John, Goodmorning, I'll re-email my contact in UK today as well. Jim

I believe Gerry Hawkridge on 001-44-1892-750341 has these lower ball joints in stock. They are Saab units but am unsure of the original application due to the lack of manufacturers part number on the parts I have looked at.
