Fantasy Junction in California has listed BEX426, ex-Sebring car for sale on their web site?

Seems to have a mix of the engine/head from BEX387 and BEX311. Asking price $218,500 for a project car! Makes the $142,500 price paid for the Kruse car BEX339 seem like a bargain - and I thought it was overpriced by a factor of 2!

Interesting, looks like quite a bit of work, you could be looking at $40,000-$60,000 for a full restoration. Just done my Aceca, doing my Ace at the moment, the paint is shot on this car, plus all the suspension looks like it could do with a clean.

Lower sills look bad as well, price is too much for me, getting close to Cobra country when you include the rebuild cost!.

It may just be were the market is going on the other had, you will struggle to get a good ac bristol in the UK for less than $160-170K, a race one  fully restored up at the $270-300K with full history.

Last point the engine seems to be from a few sources!, interesting.

Would be interesting to see what engines/heads 387 and 311 currently have, if their owners are part of the club.

Someone will have close to $300K into this car if they buy it anywhere near the asking price. A $40-60K resto would be cheap, I think it will actually cost more. Looks like I can pretty much give up on ever owning one!

I do not have access to my books right now, but was wondering how many Sebring cars there were. I remember reading Ak Miller cannabalized one for a Pikes Peak/Land speed record car (last thing I read said the tubes were about all that was left of that car) and was curious how many others ran at Sebring. The price of this car even with the history does seem to be high, but maybe the market is higher than I thought as I have not been following it very closely.

I SO hope that the prospective purchaser doesn`t restore out all the history in the car.

Agree, I would do a basic restore, not like what I had to do. Get the body sorted, clean the rest up.
