   A picture/postcard dealer has some shots from the mid-20's for sale on Ebay. They show twelve personal photos, I assume from a deceased's estate, of their AC which was obviously treasured by its owners. Delightful hand-written captions 'AC's on the coast road', 'On the way to Darlington' and 'The old 1923 AC – the 1926 AC'. I noticed one of the cars has had its front lights repositioned to the top of the wings.

   A correction to the above. I have recently acquired two further sales catalogues from the 1920's, and the brochure from 1923 (for the '24 year) shows the headlamps positioned on the front wings on the 4-cyl. Empire model, so a factory fitting from new at the time. This headlamp positioning was not shown in the 1924 (for '25) brochure. See below:
