How tight thy spinners?

       Got the spinners off my car for the new tires, almost broke the breaker bar but used the reducer and that finally cracked them loose after 20 years.....so......how much, by hammer or torque....should they be tightened???

Tighten 'em till they strip and then back 'em off half a turn![:0] They should go until they don't move anymore and then a couple of good whacks for good measure. And then safety wire. You did remember to coat it all with never-sieze, right? (Had a guy that worked for me that LOVED never-sieze and when he used it he ended up looking like the tin woodsman, he would be silver from head to toe)
