Hi all,
Can anybody tell me what is inside the fuel tank of my MK1V?

I have been syphoning out sme contaminated fuel and now can not remove the syphon tube.

The last few cms of the  flexible tube have a rigid non return valve, and this seems to be stuck under something.

   Any help seriously appreciated.

Maybe it stucks underneath the fuel sender or the divider walls /anti motion baffles / slosh baffles. Twist or rotate the tube during the removal, it will come out (sooner or later).
Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler!

... If memory serves me correctly when I was searching for my fuel pump ... the tank has a baffle or two and as westcott mentioned you might be hooked on the sendor.  If you take the cover behind the seat out there is access to the sendor ... once removed you can see in the tank.
