Just bought my European breakdown insurance from the AA (£61) and was amazed to see this travel warning.........

Sounds like a good further reason to add to the many advantages of traveling  in convoy.

.. and don't forget the breathalyzer!..  actually you better buy a box full as the law will require you to carry one that is unused!.... so what will it be good for, if you can't use it to test your alcohol level after lunch !?   ... ah I got it: to fill the public treasure and have money to pay the politicians who come up with such stupid laws   :-)

I've been in France for the last six weeks, and have been unable to buy any 'Alcootest' kits, everywhere has been sold out, so if you can buy them in the uk before you go, do so.

Guys, don't care about breathalyser !
Even if they are mandatory by July 1st, drivers caught without the test in their car will face a fine of 11 euros from November 1st.

Glad I read that after returning from the 50th Cobra Meeting via that very route!! No sign of bandits and not a single police car....maybe I got lucky. Maybe the rain kept everyone indoors....

We were in France last month and bought the test kits on the ferry - John.
