Thanks Keith and Robin.  I believe I may be going to Silverstone with a mate of mine.
BTW - My ACECA was raced there in the Historics by Adrian Hall.

Hope to run into a few of my international AC'ers

I was there today and saw 2 Ace's and one lone Aceca.  Where was everyone?

Sorry to have missed you,  BEX333 was my the Black Ace parked along with a red Ace, Tony Michaels grey Greyhoiund and Terry Richards blue Aceca.

The Pathetic turnout and space allocated to the ACOC was compounded by the fACt that the 289 register with approx 60 Kirkhams/Hawks Ace and Cobra to one
side and The Cobra replica Club on the other side with twenty plus Fake Snakes.

Had a house full over the weekend, all attended Silverstone Classic in various classics including a CRS and 3000ME.

Met up with many Friends both Competing and Socialising, so made the most of the good weather, Managed to get back home Just before the heavens opened,
which was more than Paul and Jacqui Eaton who arrive at my house like drowned rats, Towels and change of clothes plus hot drinks before Dinner at our local village pub, where we were joined by Eric Gates and Nick Bagshaw, my Family and Friends up from North Devon.

Pity you didnt give me a call, we would have enjoyed your company, maybe another time..[;)]

The value of Genuine AC Aces and AC Cobras mean like AStons and Bentleys  younger new blood coming into the ACOC are mainly those who have inherited, where as
you can build 5 or 6 Fakes for the price of a Ace Bristol and 10 ++++ if compared to a AC leaf spring 289 Cobra.

We as a club need to seriously review the situation and respond in a positive manor, Room for discussion on the Forum, in ACtion and at the next Council meeting..[;)]

Life is what you make of it, and our week end was spent with great Friends, Good Food and wine and some great racing with the bonus the girls were able to shop
drink Pioms and make the most of our Summer.

Mustn`t forget Adrian Dawn`s gorgeous 428 in attendance on Sunday, and there were 2 Acecas on Saturday, braving the Monsoon!
Eric passed the ME baton on to Bryan for Sunday, and I believe several others attended on Friday only.
It would be great to see more ACs at events like this and the NEC show, Hats off to the regular attendees, but how`s about getting some 2-litres, PVTs etc to show the world that there`s more to AC than the Cobra!!!
The actual location of the ACOC pitch was very good, right on the roadside at the main roundabout in/out of the infield, so there was an awful lot of potential for raising 'brand awareness', and all of the cars I saw were excellent examples of what Thames Ditton (and beyond!) had to offer.
All in all a great weekend, some photos to follow, in a differnt thread. [:)]

Sorry I couldn't have been there, but had other commitments, and my ACs are work in progress at the moment. The Ace Bristol is at Steve Stanton's, being fettled for the Bentley Drivers Club meeting at Silverstone on the 10th Aug. For the general AC visitor, the cost of the Silverstone Classic has rocketed. If you drove a classic, you used to get in for free, but now it's about £50 on the day. That must limit numbers, and as Keith says, the cars tend to belong to an ageing and/or wealthy group of owners who are much less likely to turn out, than the boyish fanatics of 30 years ago when the cars were affordable. If the cars are running, my sons would love to go. Maybe next year.

Andy you can not buy tickets on the day now, advanced tickets only.

Yes the prices have gone up, nut if you buy in advance before March 31st and take advantage of the two for one club discount code, you can attend for all three days for £80.00 for a pair of tickets.
