AC 289 Sports built by Brian Angliss?

Hello everybody,
   In a German Cobra forum I recently came across a thread in which someone presented his newly acquired 'AC 289 Sports Car' alledgedly built by Brian Angliss. The car had an aluminium body and did indeed very much look like the AC 289 Sports which was produced by AC in the 60ies (i.e. basically a 427 with somewhat narrower hips, a 289 engine and wire wheels and without side pipes, roll bar and hood scoop).
   Does anyone know whether Brian Angliss in fact built that type of car?

Thank you Peter. I suspect, however, that the article deals with the Cobra 289 and a 1992 remake of same, whereas I was talking about the AC 289 Sports which had the Cobra 427 chassis and also the 427 body with the modifications described in my initial post, making the car look somewhat more elegant (in my view). The AC 289 Sports did not wear the name 'Cobra' and was not exported to the US. I wonder whether Brian Angliss ever created a new edition of that car, possibly only a very small quantity, similar to what he did on a larger scale with respect to the Cobra 427 when he created the Mk IV.

Hi Jürgen,
   The ACOC Register (edition 1910 - 2001) on page 135 lists 14 "later coil spring cars" built in second half of the 70ies and fist half of the 80ies. Brian Angliss figures as builder of 6 COB chassis cars and 1 CSX chassis. Except for the CSX chassis, they are listed as 427 replicas (and not 289s).
   
   The online version of the Register and the bespoke Appendix is more complete.
