I have found an old invoice from July 1963 when my grandfather and father were at an aution at Beaulieu by Southern Counties Car Auction Ltd.

They bought 2 lots, 1 being lot 18 noted as A.C reg no EPJ 101 for £260.

Does anyone have any info on this car please?

   Many thanks

Hello. The registration was issued through December 1957. So unlikely to be a Saloon more likely an Ace or Aceca.
Would be good to find one for that price today!!

Thanks all.

I knew my dad did have an AC that was Betty Haigs but didn't know this was the one as he had so many cars.
Can someone post a picture so I can see what it looks like and perhaps I can find some old photos of it.

The other car bought is somewhat well known also

Would this be the car? (I'm not very good with ACs but had this set on my computer)

That would be an Alfa Romeo 2900 (KPE), a Jaguar XK 120 (JER) and the AC respectively. The Alfa is by FAR the most valuable of the three! I am not sure if this is indeed EPJ 101 but probably others can identify it.

Here's the car, photographed 10 days ago, at the ACOC National Day, Thames Ditton.

Thanks all for your replies.

It was me in the Alfa - we didn't buy it. The XK was my dads with my mother in the picture and if that is the AC in question that's my father in it who would have been 16 years old when he got my grandfather to purchase it, so I'm guessing a few years older in the picture. All my family have passed away, we tended to have much larger cars, bentleys etc all vintage so I had no idea that the picture was even an AC.

It looks lovely in the recent photograph, I have left the current owner a message so it will be nice if he can confirm my old photo.

Thanks all for your help

Spoke to David Hescroff yesterday and it is the same car.
