At the March 12 RM Auctions, AEX 93 (now with a Bristol engine) sold for $148,500 (US).

An early Cobra (CSX 2485) didn't sell for $425,000.

The top seller was a 1952 Ferrari 340 Mexico coupe at $790,000 over it's $3,500,000 high estimate.

Guess the economy isn't too bad!

   Gooding also reported:
   BEX404 - 258,500 and Aceca AEX607 at 110,000 US.

Then today BEX404 appeared on Classic Driver for 289,000 US

Is this like flipper homes here in the US????

BEX404 is not new to the auction circus:

   Coys, London, 04/03/2002: 38,640 GBP
Gooding, Pebble Beach, 15/08/2009: 264,000 USD
Gooding, Amelia Island, 11/03/2011: 258,500 USD

But its appearance in Classic Driver is anterior to the latest auction auction of course.

   Cheers

The above valuations are a little misleading.

The BEX404  which Sold at Coys back in 2003 was not the Genuine BEX404.  Coys and vendors  were involved in a Law Suit.resulting in vendors reimburrsing the Japanese collector.

The Genuine BEX404 infact has continuos documented History in USA and has been restored by Robert Pass &  Charles Crail to be a 100 point car.

The Original well worn-Patinated leather seat covers from this car were sent across the pond in the boot of Ron Varney's BEX280 when it was  bought by Eiji Taguchi back in 2007, Which I could hopefully use to patch the seats in BEX333,  Unfortunately I couldn't re-use  as intended as they proved to be too fragile.

What ever became of the Clone of BEX404 and the other Cloned Ace which Sold at the same Coys auction ?? ( I believe pictures and this subject were discussed on the Forum many moons ago )
