Aceca hand brake release

I am having trouble with my handbrake releasing.    I press the button in to lock it on,  however it always seems to let go of the ratchet and releases the brake.  Is the handbrake release adjustable or does anyone have experience of fixing this problem?  I am guessing that there is a pin that locks (or isn't locking in this case) into the crescent shaped ratchet?

I expect your ratchet teeth have worn & the pawl etc, Gerry Hawkridge (Hawk Cars) should have some in stock.

I had great service from Hawk Cars!  I have already fitted the new pawl and ratchet, both originals were worn and the handbrake now works perfectly
