I know there were a few options on the MKIV's went built. Was there an options sheet printed? If so, may I have a copy?[8D]

jbottini

I may have a copy of the build sheet at home from my car I will advise. Jim

Autokraft never really published a "list" as such. Standard avaialable options were:

   Oil cooler
   Stripes
   Hood scoop

If you begged a hardtop could be had. Also color and trim options as well as "shipped but not installed" items such as wood steering wheel, knock-offs, etc.

I wonder what the cars the Sultan of Brunei ordered had for options.....

Thank you Mark IV, I knew you would have the answer.[8D]

... I asked AC for prices. I guess it was in 1997, when the AC Cobras were sold relatively cheap. I don´t know, if I have still the list, but I "feeded" an excel file with the data, and the file still exists (Prices in BPD):

   AC COBRA   59.400,00
   VAT   10.395,00
   Total   69.795,00
   Delivery Pack   170,00

   AC COBRA - Optional extras
   Pioneer radio/cassette (fitted)   475,00
Pioneer CD radio/cassette and CD multichangersystem (fitted)   970,00
   Painted stripes   885,00
   Painted wheel centres   205,00
   Perspex sun visors (pair)   100,00
   Rubber mats (set)   85,00
   Sateen cotton car cover   185,00
Sigma alarm system (during build)   525,00
   Stainless steel sidevents   225,00
Wheel spinners (set of four)   400,00
   Windwings (pair)   180,00
   Wooden gearknob   45,00
   Woodrim steering wheel   160,00

I hope, this is the information you´re interested in ...

The options list and prices quoted by Michael are identical to those in the AC Cobra Retail Price List issued with an AC Car Group press release dated 6th December 1996. Whilst the car price included VAT, the delivery pack and option prices were ex VAT.

The Press Release was entitled 'AC rescued: Britain's oldest car maker set for bright future' - this being the announcement of Pride Automotive Group Inc's acquisition of AC Cars.

At about the same time, rather more comprehensive specification sheets were published for the AC Cobra and the AC Ace, - the latter was to be re-launched in 1997. In these sheets, Cobra optional equipment is listed as:
Alarm system, mohair hood/tonneau, painted stripes, painted wheel centres, three eared spinners (set of four), stainless steel sidevents, oil cooler, Nardi woodrim steering wheel, wooden gear nob, windwings, perspex sun visors, rubber mats, radio cassette including two speakers, CD multichanger radio cassette including 4 speakers and electric aerial.

No prices were quoted, and there were no options offered for the Ace.

Regarding the Brian Angliss era AC MkIV and AC Cobra MkIV, there are no options listed in any of the material I have access to.

I wonder why I have to look for a bigger house every ten years, maybe the reason is, I don´t throw away anything (and I always look at the bin, if my wife did and pick it out ...). Here are scans of the spec sheet and the price list:

Both are dated Nov. 24th, 1995.

Jim, if these are not the same like yours, send them to carroll.shelby(at)gmx.de, the old gout will post it for you!

Be mindful that there is a difference in the published stuff between the "Autokraft" AC days and the "Pride/AC Car Group" days. I have some of each, but Autokraft tended not to publish things, but actually build them, while Luby tended to publish a whole lot and build very little!

I have the order sheet Jim has supplied both in blanks (carbonless form) and the dealer copy for most of the MK IVs we ordered.
