My stock specification 2000 built CRS runs a 1994 Mustang 5.0 litre motor and full engine management system. I recently had a problem with the cars ECU [powertrain control module in Ford speak]. The Spark Out [SPOUT] side of the ECU failed, it was getting a signal in but would not return one. I was able to get a replacement ECU easily from the States and now fitted all appears well again.
Would any AC member know where I could send my original Ford ECU to have it repaired, just so I have a good spare unit.
Any help would be much appreciated

Alan,

I have to say .. I will ask around but cant say I have ever heard of anyone fixing them .. I guess that leads up to another entire issue ..our throw away society ?  If I come up with something I will be sure to get back to you.

Thanks for the posts and your efforts on my behalf, it is much apprecited. Have also been recommended a Ford specialised ECU repair company, so after initial conversation they seem confident they can fix the ECU. Makes you wonder if it is a spare that you should have at home for the car? no ECU output, the car is well and truely dead!!!!
