No surprise at all - just back from the States and I was painfully aware that the main suspects who would normally be bidding on cars like these are currently fire-fighting or just trying to keep out of jail!!! I think a lot of these people will be trying to unload their collections rather than add to them.....

Bidders had a low key approach to the brood. It took many beers to wait for the Daytona Coupe. It was driven onto the stage by Bob Bondurant and in addition Allen Grant and Peter Brock were present on the stage.

Lot F244 was 1964 Shelby Cobra 289 CSX2430 Ex-Tom Payne Competition Roadster: when I noted right despite of the many beers is was:
   $1.300.000 € 959.400 not sold

The top four results have been Shelby cars:
   No. 1: Lot F248.1
   1966 Shelby 427 S/C Cobra Roadster CSX 3034
   Sold for $1,165,000
   No. 2: Lot F246
1966 Shelby Cobra 427 Ex-Tom Payne Competition Roadster CSX 3020
   Sold for $1,000,000
   No. 3: Lot F248
1967 Shelby GT500 Convertible 428 CI Dual-Quad, Automatic. Only One Built
   Sold for $825,000
   No. 4: Lot F237
1964 Cooper Monaco King Cobra CM 6/64, 1964 L.A. Times GP Winner
   Sold for $600,000
Obviously CSX 3034 was sold after the auction. It seems there is much more attention to the 427 than to the 289 Cobras.
