James,
From the 2 Litre Saloon right through Ace and postwar Greyhound production the boot area was sprayed with a light chocolate brown coloured flock, where it was not upholstered.
I seem to remember that there is a description how to do it on the 2 Litre Saloon website. It was not one of A.C.'s better ideas

Not 100% sure but weren't the inner panels of the boot ( trunk)  originally spray finished with a beige / light brown coloured flock type material ?
maybe some one with more knowledge can elaborate .

Frost restorations do Flocking, you need brush, adhesive, puffer bottle and Flocking dust. It is a bit messy but works. A wide range of colors held. Not too expensive either.

Good Luck

A car is only original once, but, you can modify it as many times as you like.

My car my rules.

Olan,
As a starting point for your restoration you should get hold of a copy of Rinsey Mills book "Original AC Ace & Cobra" (Published by Bay View Books ISBN 1 870979 14 1). The book has lots of useful information and photos.

Good luck with the project.
Regards,
Ben
