Battery Tray from AEX1078

I was working on cleaning up various parts on AEX1078 and when I got to the home made battery tray/hold down I noticed some letters that were visible through the old undercoating. I scraped the undercoating off, and found someone had made the tray out of an old sign from a Bombing/Gunnery range. Makes me wonder if 1078 was used on a military base at some time in its life, and if so, what the paint job might have been. Has anyone ever seen a picture of an Ace painted in Camouflage? I'm wondering what it might look like.[;)]

Hahahahaaaa.... I hope the Range was de-commisioned before the sign found it`s new employment!! That`s the most random thing I`ve seen in months, thanks for brightening a miserable Monday morning.
