Dear All,
could anyone tell me what this electrical part is and ideally where to find one to buy. It did "smoke" a bit last time I started the engine so I am worried that it may fail or need changing.
There is no reference on it.
My car is an AC autokraft MKIV 1989
Many thanks in advance for your help.
Many thanks
Best Regards

It looks like a ballast resistor in the lighting circuit (based on wire colours Red/green/blu). It will get hot as it is limiting current in the circuit its in.
You dont say where it is or give approximate dimensions.

They are also found in the coil circuit (usually in engine bay near coil) .
I would take it out and measure its continuity and resistance--it may also be marked underneath. The MkIV circuit diagram should help you find what circuit its in.
