FYI ~ BEX1183, which is a "Cobra-ized" AC Ace, is currently for sale at Vintage Offroad in Flagstaff AZ, at an asking price of $55,900 USD.

AC Bill

I'm somewhat confused about that roadster..Sort of a hybrid, not really a Cobra, nor really an Ace..?
Maybe that's why the bidding is still so low..?
I wonder if it has any racing providence?

If the serial number is correct (1183) then the prefix will be AEX, meaning the car started life as an AC-engined Ace. That said, AEX 1183 is alive and well and looking just like it left the factory in 1960. There never was a 'BEX 1183'.

AC Ace Bristol

.
Have to agree with Tim,  AEX1183 is a concours winning AC engined Thames Ditton Ace enjoying the sunny climes of the East Coast of USA.

The only thing in common is the colour, otherwise the Cobraised Ace.[?] in Flagstaff is a GENUINE 100% FAKE SNAKE..[:(]

There's tooooo many Fake Snakes around, Thankfully only two Imposters  in the Ace Register.  Lets keep it that way..[;)]

Thanks for the extra input, and sorry for the bum steer on this car.

I wonder what this thing really is, then...?  The vehicle description is a bit of a convoluted mess, but some of the photos show some authentic-looking AC features: floor-mounted pedals, ally door skins and hood.

If I lived anywhere near Flagstaff, I'd go check out the car in person to learn more.
