In am the ex racing manager of Honda  in the UK Retired 1986 and former manager of Snetterton circuit, Where David Sears Motorsport was based) I also ran the JPS Norton from 1989 to 1993.

My father   G R Symmons was a shareholder in AC Cars at Thames Ditton and a friend of Derek Hurlock a member of the AC Owners club, as a youngster we used to visit the factory regularly.  I sat in and steered the le Mans  AC Cobra coupĂ© when it was pushed from the body shop area to the paint shop in 1964.  My father owned 2 of the saloons and I believe the first retail Greyhound which the factory used in the Paris motor show at its launch 900 OPA.  I was lucky enough to be taken down the Kingston by Pass by Jock Henderson in the factory demonstrator, a Red AC Cobra and we managed 154 MPH which is still the fastest speed I have ever travelled in a car.  We lived in Oxshott and was eventually married in Thames Ditton.

Hi Barry & welcome to the ACOC forum!
What fantastic tales of youth! The Greyhound 900 OPA (chassis no BEF2503) is now resident in the US of A, as is BEF2501*, which was originally registered 880 OPA.
It`s a bit of a fuzzy photo, but I think it was 880 OPA that appeared in  The Avengers, as noted on the IMCDB website:

   * The 2009 register says that 880 OPA is in the USA, but Graham Wright stated that it was broken up in the 70`s in this '428 in the Avengers' thread.

Many thanks for the info I have seen the Photo of the avengers car and I must admit thought it was 900 OPA but now see the 880opa plate I remember that one being around the factory at the time Sorry to hear about the probable fate of 900 OPA as I learned to drive in that car

I think it`s the other way around, 880 OPA was thought to be broken up, maybe our Registrar has a definitve answer! The listed owner is the US ACOC 'go to' guy, so shouldn`t be too hard to find out!
