An interesting car. AC made a handful of these circa 1939 on a new overslung chassis. Some had a 3/4-seat configuration, with a bench at the front and the fourth seat behind facing across the car.

The following photograph illustrates the arrangement. A full description was published in ACOC ACtion Archive of June 2009.

The car for sale has been advertised on a number of occasions in recent years. It is intriguing that at some stage the car seems to have attracted a 1964 UK registration.

The engine front mountings also suggest a post-WWII engine. However, AC had moved the engine forward in the chassis to increase interior space and so it is conceivable (but not confirmed) that the space consuming early pattern 'crows foot' front mountings were dispensed with for this model.

I had been in touch with the vendor. The chassis number is L687, so one of the last pre-war cars. The engine is UMB1641 so is not the original. The interior has been retrimmed in what looks like vynal material and is indeed a bench seat with single sideways facing rear. The dashboard has been altered also.He was looking for 16,000 euros.
