I read your account some time ago with great enjoyment. Derek Hurlock often made the run to Scotland, earlier he used the works Greyhound, later CF 7 and CF 3. He was quite amusing when recounting that the 2 litre G'hound always returned about 20 mpg on the run: So did the 7 litre 428......
Your photograph's are an essential part of your story and even a useless OAP like me can manage to post photographs, for free, on this forum:

CSX2033 and CRS 9513 on a run to Macallen's Distillery - sorry I do not have a 428 to portray, but at least there is a whisky connection. The picture comes from my lap top via 'Postimage'



By the bye you don't say how the run south back home went and I wonder if you have completed the Italian 428 run yet ?
