Please can anyone let me know what the driveshaft UJ's are from for a 428 Frua and potential availability.
Cheers, Luke

Morning everyone....surely there must be somebody out there who has restored or changed the driveshaft UJ's and can offer some info ?????
Thanks, Luke

This forum seems really quiet so I'd be figuring it out myself rather than waiting for an answer.  It'll be a standard size and there were quite limited choices available back in the day - just measure up the cup and assembled diameter and compare with the obvious candidates (e type etc).

For repair kits I would try Brian Eacott (for contact details see his ACtion advert).  For identification, as Andy says, you need the cup OD and the distance between faces of opposite cups. I guess they were the largest of the standard range of Hardy Spicer UJ's.

Just in case anyone else comes looking for a solution here, the correct part number for the half shaft UJ is QL1005 and is a Quinton Hazel product. Dimensions are 30.2mm Cup Diameter and 106.3mm overall assembled length. They were fitted to earlier Jaguar XJ6 and TVR 420 and 450 likely other cars too. Be careful, the later ones are the same cup diameter but are a shorter assembled length.

The relevant part QL1005 is readily and cheaply available in numerous places. I can confirm correct as just fitted to my 428.
