Has anyone installed the Dynaformance / Accuform Classic Fuel Injection system ( http://classicinjection.com/index.php )? If so, please tell me about the installation, performance and dependability. I am seriously considering this modification to me MKIV.

   Thank you,

Just joined the forum and noticed your post, we have built four systems using components from both Dynaformance and the new owners, Accuform, we are collaborating with Accuform over inprovments to the system. Do you still need information.

Welcome to the forum, Mike.
For anyone not aware, Huddart Racing Engines are well known & respected in the UK, I know they prepared an engine for 39PH(the ex-Le Mans, Willment Cobra)when run by Minshaw Racing, so a great resource to have here on the forum!

Hi Mike,
Welcome to the forum, good to have you here. We met at the Race Retro show at Stoneleigh last year and had a good chat.
   Cheers – John.

Nick, John,
   thanks for the welcome.
John, if you remember we had the Dynaformance system on a SB Ford at the Race Retro, that engine is now on the road (and soon on the track)and the owner is absolutely thrilled with it so it can be made to work and work well. Can I put your name on the list !

Hi Mike,
Assuming you take payment by Nectar points and Sainsbury's school vouchers please put my name at the top of the list[;)]

   John,
you are obviously troubled by too many trips to Sainsburys filling stations, Just think, if you had one of our spiffy injection kits, how less frequent those visits would become !
Did you see in the papers this week that petrol would hit £1.50 a litre within weeks !

Trevor,
I think we'll be getting a ticking off from the powers that be if we start "desking" other threads.
I'm  right with you on desking, our time will come, soon everyone will want a hot desk.

Mind you, the thought of one of Mike's injection kits on an early '70 muscle desk would be ultra competitive. As most European desks of the period are single seater the power to weight ratio would be amazing. Of course the chassis would probably need to be reinforced to cope with the extra torque.

Yes of course, modern electronic  fuel injection offers so precise metering that it provides large gains in power, fuel economy, clean burning and substantial reduction in engine wear. In carbureted engines, unburnt fuel washes the oil on the cylinder walls and accelerate cylinder wear, also, unburnt petrol dilutes engine oil resulting in more bearing wear and more frequents oil change.  This is the main reasons why modern car engines last so much longer than their predecessors. Also because of this, modern engines can run closer piston to cylinder wall  tolerances. Any old engine will benefit from fuel injection. I wish systems could be designed to replaces carburetors on all vintage cars and that the modification would not be considered a reduction in originality at various vintage car shows. This is the single modification that is both ecological and provides substantial power gains.

John.

Have you and the speed controller considered a partners desk?  They overcome the single seated issue though may cause confusion as to which direction to travel in.  An ebonised one would also cater for your colour preference.
