Exhaust mounts

I thought it would be straightforward. Loosen off the exhaust and replace the 'cotton reel' shaped exhaust mount, which is really a large metal washer and bolt top and bottom betwixt which is the rubber to stop your dental fillings being shaken out thro' vibration. After taking the split article around numerous motor experts no one can recognise what car this simple piece of engineering came off. The nearest is a Renault but in reality it is smaller and less substantial. Maybe it was a rear gearbox mount originally off some make. As there are six on the back half and a question of time before the others go and the car gets an MOT failure. Can any of you knowledgeable chaps shed some light.
   Thanks

Ian, you're looking for a set of common garden-variety exhaust bobbins, per this ebay link (a quick search will unearth loads of them)

You'll need to buy the nuts separately (bizarrely, they are never supplied together).  They are an imperial size, 5/8 from memory.

Many thanks Bruce. I had a feeling that you would be the one with the answer. I have placed the order. Looking forward to seeing you and the car soon. Now I have these bobbins I may  even have mine MOT'd for the next meet.

   All the best
