Radiator hose connection on Bristol engine

As well as the AC I have a Bristol 400 (undergoing renovation) and am looking for help with a mechanical problem.
The top hose has a brass mount to allow connection of the heater pipe. I'll try to attach a photo but essentially this is a circular brass disc and pipe that appears to pierce from the inside through the rubber hose with a further matching mount screwing on from the outside. How should these be removed without damaging them and then what is the correct procedure to attach onto a new hose?
