The MK IV's adjustable spring/shock units on AKL1417 (1993) require two different sized C-Spanners to adjust ride hight.

Can anyone tell me the size of the C-spanners?

   Thanks in advance

I'm not sure of the exact size but I'm sure this type of universal C Spanner would be ideal...

I tried a pair of them (in work, not on suspension parts) and found the 'inner' spanner too wide, so that it wouldn`t fit between the outer nut & the shaft flange it was holding, into the lug; I had to machine it down 2mm. It eventually snapped.
   I now use a pair of 58-62 'C'Spanners on 58mm(21/4") o/d, 40mm thread locknuts. Hope this helps.

OK, found these Spax C Spanners on  Rimmer`s, but they are out of stock of the smaller ones:

Thanks guys,

I'm afraid the adjustable spanner is too thick and would have to be grinded down (as Nick mentioned).

The Spax spanners look fine from that point of view but for the large plate 2.24 inch size definitely is too small.

   I'll check with Big Al.

Can you measure the o/d of the nuts, as in the pic above?

I will, but it will have to wait until after Le Mans Classic.
