308 had a factory roll hoop installed shortly after delivery along with disc brakes and a 43/10 rear. The hoop is anchored on the chassis tube that bridges the top mounts of the rear shocks and that in turn is braced to the dif frame. Just under the body the roll hoop is bolted to the upper chassis tube above the rear suspension. While it doesn't look like much it is pretty stiff when properly installed. The first owner of 308 told me he tested it and it passed --- see "Ace Bristol Racing" page 66. I probably have pictures of the mounting somewhere.

Sorry I forgot this part, the factory roll hoops were SCCA legal through the(I believe)1959 season after which the rules were changed to require the bracing we are familiar with today.
