You can try searching the "Brooklands" part of the forum, the subject as been discussed but nobody appears to have a definitive answer. So I'd be very interested if you find out what parts are used.

I wanted to dismantle to whole assembly to sandblast and paint, but couldn't shift the bolts on the lower wishbone so I gave up.

Well Done!
login works fine now. Search function works fine when logged in. But the captcha verification text is very small and incomplete, one needs to play the letters and then insert to activate the search feature, see attached screen dump.

Your welcome!
Just to complete the discussion, info to other members that might want to know how the mail feature is set up:
From the forum main menu, select "My Messages" , you end up in the "Inbox" display
Then select "Preferences" by holding the mouse cursor over Preferences
and then select "Change Settings" from the pop-up menu displayed.
There are a selection of options you can set/select from the page displayed, the most significant are:
"Notify by e-mail when you receive a personal message", this will send a notification to the e-mail address
you have in your forum profil. The system does not forward messages as far as I know.
"Receive personal messages from: All members etc (there are four options to select from)

I don't know if forwarding a message works to an external e-mail address but I haven't needed to do so as yet.......

If you need a full user description, select Help from the main menu and then select the Personal messages Topic link

Ace 'Brooklands' Forum / Re: Door Trim

I managed to kink the wire on both my doors when replacing the window motors. Ford part number is 92GBA22600-AA.

Do not fear the wire is easy to straighten if it gets bent. Wrap cloth around wire, apply pressure and draw the length of the wire in a gentle curve so the bend "disappears". Wire gets very hot when you do this from the friction.  Alternatively find a retired GPO telephone engineer who's worked on Strowger type exchanges and ask him to straighten the wire for you. The principle is the same as straightening GPO 3000 type relay contacts. If you are unsure practice on a thin wire clothes hanger first (I would post a video but my better half has re-cycled all our dry-cleaner hangers, can't persuade her that re-cycle is old-hat and "RE-USE" is now all the rage!)

I think window roller guides for SAAB 9-3 and 9-5 models are similar and are readily available, but compare with the original on your door first.

Its a long time since I removed the door trim, but here goes.
There are four screws at the bottom of the door trim underneath the trim part of the door, remove these.
There is a screw retaining the inner door handle, remove that carefully. This will separate the handle from the
door trim, see pic.
There maybe screws in the armrest, check, and remove if there are.
Pull the lower part of the trim away from the door a couple of inches, make sure the door handle is free and doesn't follow
with the trim.
Then push upward until the trim lifts off the top of the door.
The window control switches can be disconnected after or before but I think it is easier to disconnect them after as they are not that
easy to remove first without damaging the wood surround (I think I pushed them out from behind).
Secure the door handle without kinking the wire.

Good luck /Paho

Your welcome.
Sorry I missed what actually was your problem, I cracked my wing mirror glass when disassembling the mirrors in preparation for respraying my Ace.
More info. than you needed, but you never know. Spares are so rare, so the price was about par, lots of forums for different car models have post in
respect to this classic mirror, its a wonder its not still manufactured.

Its a long time since I needed a replacement glass.
Origonally mounted on the citroen CX series 2 the mirrors were mounted on several manufactures vehicles
such as the TVR-S, TVR part S28U 10013, and I believe Ferrari.

The components that make up the mirror have different part numbers (article codes).
The mirror stalk, between the mirror and the car mounting: Mirror stalk (CX type) part no 95647738
Mirror glass passenger side (electrically heated) Citroen part no. 95618284 and 95618283 driver side

Complete units:
Manufacturer: Alkar (they no longer list the CX model) but could be worth contacting, www.alkar.es
OE number 95618279 right side electric,
OE number 95618278 left side electric.
(Warning! I've seen two sources of info. indicating that the left side is the right side and vice versa for the same part numbers!)

Possible contacts I've noted in UK were Andrew Brodie Enginering Lt.d, www.brodie.co.uk,
and a few european dealers with secondhand parts at ?**! prices e.g. www.cx-basis.de.

Good luck /Paho

There are companies in UK that will cut new wing mirror glass to replace broken ones. e.g
The Wing Mirror Company
https://www.thewingmirrorcompany.co.uk › ...
Customized Wing Mirror Glass
I have the article codes somewhere, will post them when I find them. Replacements are very hard to find.

I believe its a magazine which, as most magazines, has a web site https://www.theautomobile.co.uk/
The magazine doesn't seem to be produced in digital format.
