Thank you but I don't receive ACtion. Can you provide an email contact please.

Could someone point in the direction of the current MK IV registrar? I have access to an early MK IV and need to confirm the provenance.

Thanks!

Thank you Mark IV. You always have the answer.

One more question, do you think there is a performance difference between the single and dual exhaust systems?

Yes, but more related to the power difference between the 4V carb 5.0 and the EFI version. The single exhaust was needed to comply with the "piggyback" EPA certification and that Autokraft had to use the Mustang cat convertor design with only a little wiggle room for convertor placement vs. the Mustang.

Carbureted cars have the single exhaust with the twin outlets on one side, EFI cars have the outlet pipes fed by dual pipes and are on both sides. Simple as that. A single wheelhouse mounted muffler for the carbs, left and right wheelhouse mufflers for the EFI cars.

Compmotive who provided the wheels would be the one to ask.

The nuts are on wheel studs like a standard car but hold the steel splined insert to the wheel. Sort of like knock-off adaptors but rather than adapting a bolt-on setup to spinner, this allows the spline drive hub to work with an alloy wheel which would wallow out the spline in the wheel if not for the steel insert.

John,

As best I recall the material covered the wire leaving a "gopher trail" in the felt. You may be able to see a "ghost" of how it routed where adhesive was blocked by the wire.

John,

Local Ford dealer. Part number C1AZ-13480-A or Motorcraft SW24. Don't use cheap ones, they split and leak.

Ace 'Brooklands' Forum / Hardtop Glass

We were told the hardtop glass on the ACCG era Brooklands cars are unique to the cars.

That will buff right out.....

The early cars were wired for the "TSAD" system that Ford specified. Issue was Ford NEVER actually produced the "Two Speed Accessory Drive" which was a system that reduced the front end engine drive to the alternator, air pump, etc. by 50% to save horsepower and reduce high speed wear and drag on the ancillaries. This system was intended for use in the Mustang on which the MK IV powertrain was based and certified. It just never happened. Autokraft wired the cars to accept it as they expected the system to become available and in fact would have been required on the 5.0 powertrain.

I think it may be the feed for the side indicators which of course were not used on the US spec cars. As we NEVER had a proper factory wire diagram, all I can do is guess.

John,

You need to tell the ACOC people the story of this car and how you found it! Everyone will be interested in the original owner story and how you tracked the car history to me.
