There's plenty of them here in the USA. Just google "Cobra side pipe silencer"

   You could also try angling the outlet down toward the ground?

That's looking good but I wouldn't try for the perfect fit till it's on it's wheels, the frame and body will always move a bit when it's got the full weight on the ground.

Anybody have a part number for those small round reflector's? I have a couple of box's of what look to be the same reflector they are mounted grommet style.

I guess that was my point ineffectively put by me! to preserve history is to basically leave it alone except to conserve it, to restore it is to put it back to a certain condition at a set point in its "history"

Preserving history is important and an antidote to the ever prevalent Modsports cars
   
   But what history are you preserving? The history of the car is that from creation to present surly? to take it back to a point in its history is to destroy the very history of the car? It's a very personal thing I know but as a professional car restorer it becomes a dilemma when advising customers of a course of action......Paul

Really you only need to lock out reverse to prevent the mentioned failure.

I just had to fit a slave cylinder for the same reason. it's the same cylinder used on 289 fords or I got mine from a Sunbeam Tiger specialist
