There'll be less sliding next time Nik. I've just bought Avon CR6 ZZ tyres for all four corners :)

If I remeber correctly, there are more than four corners on the Rest & Be Thankful.  [:o)]

General Forum / Child seats and The Law

Very interesting Barry, especially the part relating to private roads. Does this mean that if you drive a utility vehicle that is not taxed or complient with current regulations (ie no lights, seatbelts etc)on a private access road, you are breaking the law? Also some TV programmes use large private estates to film cars being used which are unregistered or taxed. Are they breaking the law too?

Hi Barrie,
Great to see you have another classic back on the road. I was going to take a run up to Alford yesterday but the weather put me off. I'm sorry I didn't now.

General Forum / RAC EUROPEAN COVER

Two years ago I had the misfortune to suffer a fuel pump failure whilst at The Le mans Classic. I had European RAC cover and was extremely pleased with the assistance from them. The English mechanic was brought in to Le Mans especially for the Classic weekend as there is a high demand for his services.

Arrangements of this kind will help ensure that this will happen.

This is exactly what Barrie Bird and I were talking about on Sunday at Dunkeld. I know it was a wee bit tongue in cheek for me to return with my Hawk, but hopefully the spares I brought with me helped Rodney to get his car going again.
Unfortunately I will never be able to afford a genuine AC, but by owning a replica, albeit an expensive one, I have the next best thing. This is why, in my opinion, the ACOC can not attract 'new young blood' as the cost of ownership is outwith the reach of us mere mortals. I am however a member of both the ACOC and The 289 Register so perhaps we can forge closer relationships in the future.

I whole heartedly agree. There already is a certain amount of crossover between the two clubs. The 289 Register has members who are also members of the ACOC and own original cars and vise versa.
In the past The 289 Register has organised events which has had members of the ACOC attending. As we all have a common interest, I'm sure The 289 Register would make any member of the ACOC most welcome.

Hi, this is my first post, so please be kind. As far as I am aware, Princess Blue was the same as Jaguar Opalescent Silver Blue Metallic used between 1963 - 67 Code Jag 0013. This colour was used by AC and also by the training cars at the Shelby School of High Performance Driving at Riverside Raceway in California.
